What travelers ask before booking components without a package.
? Can I book just one component from Discovery Tours Egypt – like only a hotel, or only a day tour?
Yes. Any of our 87 day tours, 67 hotels, 27 airport transfer routes, and 90 attraction tickets is bookable individually. Most independent traveler bookings are 2–4 components combined – for example, a Cairo hotel plus a Giza day tour plus an airport transfer – confirmed in one email thread. There is no minimum booking size and no package requirement.
? How is this different from booking individual components through Viator or GetYourGuide?
Three differences. First, your booking is run by our own Cairo team, not subcontracted to a local provider you've never met – the same Egyptologists and drivers we use for our private clients. Second, pricing is direct supplier rates, not platform-marked-up. Third, while you're in Egypt you have direct WhatsApp access to the team that booked your trip, not an outsourced app support center.
? Are attraction tickets really included in the day tours?
Yes. Every Egypt day tour and multi-day vacation we sell includes all admissions for the sites visited that day – Pyramids ticket, Valley of the Kings, Karnak, the Grand Egyptian Museum, and so on. The separate attraction-tickets line exists for travelers who book a guide separately and need the tickets pre-booked, or for skip-the-line access on a self-guided visit. For 95% of our independent travelers, attraction tickets do not need to be a separate booking.
? What's the minimum booking value for independent component bookings?
There is no minimum. We have processed single-component bookings as small as a $35 arrival visa service and as large as 12 weeks of stitched-together hotels and tours for an expat-family wedding. Most independent bookings sit in the $200–$2,500 range.
? How quickly can a last-minute booking be confirmed?
Our Cairo desk confirms most independent component bookings within 4 hours during US-friendly office hours (Mon–Sat). Same-day airport transfers and next-day day tours are routine when capacity allows. For peak-season hotel and Nile cruise capacity (Nov–Feb), confirmation depends on real-time availability – we'll quote within 24 hours and hold options for you.
? Do I pay separately for each component, or is there a single invoice?
Single invoice. Once you confirm the components, we send one payment link covering the total. 50% deposit to confirm, 50% balance up to 30 days before travel. We accept US debit and credit cards. There is no per-component booking fee.
